COURSE DESCRIPTION

As technology continues to influence our daily lives in ways previously unimagined, an understanding of the sciences and software tools is becoming increasingly important in a wide range of professional fields. 3D Hoops is a project-based STEM course that uses the 3D animation software Maya to introduce students to concepts in Physics. By using Maya 3D modeling and animation software to bring physics to life, and by using basketball to bridge the gap between physics and animation, we hope to instill a deep understanding of physics skills and the ability to apply these skills to real world situations. In 3D Hoops, we provide an exciting and engaging environment for students to learn the principles of physics and master the tools of 3D modeling and animation.
