About Emma Rinaldi

Emma Rinaldi holds an M.A. in International Education from New York University as well as a B.A. in International Relations and French from Bennington College. She teaches SAT preparation for math and English as well as history, US government and civics and geography. She has particular expertise in teaching English Language Arts (ELA) and English as a Second Language (ESL).

Ms. Rinaldi’s experience includes working with a wide array of students from elementary school to adult education in nine different countries across 5 continents, including special needs students. Her work ranges from one-on-one teaching to larger classroom sizes and online courses.

She prides herself on her ability to relate to individual students and their needs,” My key successes as an educator are understanding where students are coming from and how to best adapt the lesson to their learning styles, strengths, and weaknesses. When working with a third-grade student in New York City who had strong math skills, but didn’t trust his reading abilities, so we changed the content of the reading to topics he felt more comfortable with.” This reflects her educational philosophy that teachers must understand each student’s learning style and adjust their teaching methods accordingly.
